FAQs
What tests do you run to assess my health status?
Each man has different needs, but we typically recommend a number of tests and assessments to get a comprehensive picture of your health. We begin by talking about your medical and personal history, what your life is like now, and your goals and dreams for the future. We assess your daily habits as well as your mindset. In addition, we perform a comprehensive physical exam. We usually recommend blood tests to assess your overall health, with a particular emphasis on metabolic health and hormones. For example, we often measure fasting insulin and inflammation markers, along with vitamin levels and more comprehensive hormone panels than you will typically find at most doctors’ offices. We also use continuous glucose monitors, home blood pressure monitoring, Dexa scans, and tests of physical fitness. We help you put all this information together to get a full picture of your health and to help you envision a path to becoming the man you’re meant to be.
Will you take payment from my insurance company?
No, we don’t take payment from insurance companies, because that system of payment is incompatible with excellence in medicine, and we won’t compromise on excellence. You are welcome to file a claim with your insurance company and ask if they’ll reimburse you for what you pay us. And you can use your insurance for things like lab tests, imaging, and specialist visits should you need them.
What if I get an infection, or a rash, or I cut myself, or…
Call us. We are trained to handle most medical problems and if we can’t handle it we’ll get you to someone who can.
Why the focus on metabolic health and hormones?
Simply put, metabolic health is the most powerful lever we can manipulate to improve your health in every way, because metabolic health affects every aspect of your physical functioning. And hormonal balance is the most powerful lever we can manipulate to help you feel your best every day. Metabolic health and hormones are not all we do, but for most men they are the foundation of total well-being.
Why do you only care for men?
We have chosen to focus our efforts on men’s health, because every man deserves the opportunity to become the man he’s meant to be. We heard the call and we are trying to answer it. At the same time, we firmly believe all people deserve to live the beautiful life of their dreams. We do not accept that focusing on men’s health diminishes anyone else’s well-being. On the contrary, good men make everyone better. And while we use traditionally-gendered language, we welcome any person who wants to become a better man.
